Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account you agree to these Terms of Service and to the Privacy Policy. We record which version of each you agreed to and when, so that if either document changes you can see what you actually accepted. If you do not agree to them, do not use the platform.

2. Your account

Give accurate information when you register. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to create one.

You can delete your account at any time from your settings; deletion is confirmed by email and then removes your personal data, on the terms set out in the Data Retention Policy.

3. Reviews and content

What a review must and must not contain is set out in the Review Content Guidelines, which are part of these terms. Each rule there has an identifier, and every moderation decision we make cites the specific rule it was made under.

We may remove content that breaks those rules. You keep ownership of what you write; by posting it you grant RMV a non-exclusive licence to display it on the platform and in search results pointing at the platform.

4. Veterinarians and practices

Practice owners and managers may claim their clinic's listing after identity verification, and may reply to reviews publicly. You may not offer anyone an incentive to post, change, or remove a review, and you may not review your own practice or a competitor's (Review Content Guidelines RG-04 and RG-05).

Listing information is drawn from public records, including state veterinary licensing boards. If something about your listing is wrong, or you believe published content is unlawful, use the takedown and correction form. It carries published response times; a mail to legal@ratemyveterinarian.com does not.

5. Prohibited conduct

You may not:

• Create multiple accounts to influence ratings
• Scrape or harvest data from the platform without permission
• Attempt to access anyone else's account
• Interfere with the operation or security of the platform

6. Limitation of liability

RMV is a platform for sharing experiences of veterinary care. Reviews are the opinions of the people who wrote them, not ours. We do not independently verify the credentials of everyone listed, and we are not responsible for the veterinary care you receive. Nothing here is veterinary advice. The platform is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version number and effective date at the top of this page change when we do, and the previous version stays recorded against the accounts that accepted it. Continued use after a change means you accept the new version.
